Group High Peak Hike: Colden

Onward Mountain Guides is delighted to offer group hikes for individuals seeking a community experience to tick summits in the High Peaks. Our group hikes are a great way to gain confidence for those tough and remote peaks, and meet new hiking friends!

This trek demands a high level of physical fitness to complete it within the available daylight hours. OMG reserves the right to deny participation if an individual’s participation compromises group safety.

This guided day hike takes you to Mt. Colden (elevation 4,714’, with a round-trip distance of approximately 12.6 miles and an elevation gain of around 2,500’). After introductions and a comprehensive trip overview, we’ll embark on our journey to this summit. Along the way, we’ll discuss safe backcountry travel and immerse ourselves in the rich natural history of the Adirondacks. The trip will be led by Jarrod Blundy, the owner and lead guide of Onward Mountain Guides.

Prior hiking experience is highly recommended. Good physical condition, appropriate clothing, and proper equipment are essential.

Please note that the overall time commitment will depend on the pace of the group, and OMG cannot guarantee the exact return time to the trailhead.

2-person minimum to run as open group hike. If that minimum is not met, we will offer the day as a private booking.

Thursday Night Ice Climbing Club

Notice: This is not a guided experience. It is a local climber meet-up, sponsored and supported by Onward Mountain Guides with free demo equipment for climbers in need. Climb at your own risk.

When & Where: 6pm to 9ish at Pitchoff Quarry (and sometimes Pitchoff Right or other local ice crags)

Calling all ice (and ice-curious) climbers to join us for a fun meet-up each Thursday for some night ice climbing! The Adirondacks sorely needs more climber socials, so we’ve stepped up to the plate.

Bring your own gear (the more ropes, the merrier), but if you need to borrow a harness, helmet, boots, crampons, or ice tools, Onward Mountain Guides has you covered at no cost. Just reach out in plenty of time ahead so that we can pack the right stuff for you.

We usually climb at Pitchoff Quarry, but will sometimes mix it up. Keep an eye on our Instagram page/stories for the latest information.
